Arctic Tundra Biome – The search for permafrost

A big thanks to all current and future patrons who are helping fund this science communication outreach via Patreon:

We recently joined a research team up to the Arctic Tundra of northern Sweden on a search for permafrost. This biome is like an Arctic version of the Wild West, and the weather can change quickly. It’s also a biome undergoing big changes as a result of increasing global temperatures. The race is now on to figure out how the changes are affecting everything that lives here.

This video was produced together with researchers at University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

The research project titled PERMTHAW has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme to Mats P. Björkman under grant agreement No 657627
